We know there are a ton of you that have expressed a desire to help, but just don't know where to start. First, please PRAY.... there is no doubt that we have felt the requests and we feel the strength of the Holy Spirit upon us, so please continue to "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." (Romans 12:12). Additionally, we have absolutely loved receiving scripture and encouragement letters from so many of you. We have felt a little selfish that we are the only ones getting to benefit from the awesome outpouring and personal stories, which is one reason we are going to the blog. We figure this way you all can also begin to benefit from each other. So please add to the blog, as trivial as you think it may be compared to what others are going through. We all can grow in this!
Not sure where to continue.... It has been such a whirlwind of events and emotions over the last 2 weeks, but by God's grace, most of our emotions have been that of awe and worship. There were those times that we let our guard down and we could feel the evil one trying to creep in and begin to wreak havoc (that downward cyclic cycle of self pity and doubt). But as we continue to focus our eyes and hearts upward and reach outward, God pulls us closer again and again, making us stronger.
So, we are sitting here today at the University of Maryland, getting my first chemo cocktail and radiation treatment, knowing that God will once again work through his created things to glorify Himself. We continue to be just speechless from the individuals that God has placed in our path. His answered prayers through this have just blown us away. The individuals that God has used to speak to us about immediate decisions we were in prayer over, have been one right after another. From where do we need to be for treatment, to trying to get to the root cause of the cancer and what that means nutritionally. (We'll blog on the individuals and other nutritional changes in separate posts, as they deserve their own attention. But they no doubt have God's hands in each one of them.)
So we'll make sure we post more detail, more often and provide more testimony. Stay tuned. Also, please share and provide your own story for all to benefit!
