Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hello Family & Friends - We wanted to wish you and yours a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We also thought it would be a nice chance to give you a quick update on our family and our past year.  

Since Jason's 1 year Cancer Free Anniversary last February, we have had a busy but good year!  The first hurdle we faced in the spring was finding out that we would need to find a new place to live.  Of course this was right as the market was starting to go CRAZY and we didn't know at that point if we would be moving again in summer of 2022.  Once again, we were in a crunch of finding a new place to live in about a month's time.  Sigh.  Boy was it a whirlwind!  Long story short, GOD PROVIDED once again in an AMAZING way!  Through our acupuncturist, BLESS HER HEART, we found out about a 200 acre, historic farmhouse in Urbana (only 15 minutes away from the house we were in) that was becoming vacant shortly after learning we would need to move out of the prior home.  WOW, WOW, WOW!  Thankfully we connected with the realtor before they listed it on the market and were able to move in the end of May.  It was SUCH a BLESSING that our prior landlords let us move out a month early to save on double rent!  God orchestrated SO MANY details through that move for us, it was INCREDIBLE!  Honestly, we were just looking for any single family house to rent that we could find in our price range, but to be on a farm again, 5 minutes away from Tyler's new school and Taylor was able to stay in the school had been going to was HUGE!  And, Jason is in HEAVEN getting to live on land, having space and a place to walk out the door to hunt whenever he wants.  Never has he had an opportunity like this.  EXCEEDINGLY & ABUNDANTLY MORE than we thought to ask or think!  Thank you Jesus!

After finishing off the school year and the move, we enjoyed a trip to Myrtle Beach with Meg's side to regroup.  This was the first time in 6 moves that we didn't have the Government move us and man was it HARD WORK!  Needless to say we ENJOYED the beach and celebrated that the move was over and that we had a full summer to enjoy ahead of us!  

In July the kids enjoyed different camps in Maryland like FCA & 4-H Camp.  Then in August, we took our own family vacation.  We took 2 weeks to explore the Northeast part of the country that we had never been to before.  We started out in Connecticut, spent a few days in Cape Cod, Massachusetts,  then to Maine for a handful of days, next to New Hampshire for a few days and then lastly Vermont.  What an adventure!  From seal spotting, shark searching, coastal tide walking, lobster eating, Acadia Park exploring, gorgeous trail hiking in Maine, Presidential Peaks bouldering, maple syrup ice cream & poutine eating, getting dirty UTVing, original Ben & Jerry's visiting, etc... It was a wonderful adventure to share together!

Shortly after school started back, we found out that we wouldn't have to relocate in the summer of 2022.   This surprisingly brought about mixed emotions for each person in our family.  However, as we settle into our new place, it feels nice to know that we get to have roots for awhile in an area that has been home for us for a combined 12.5 years now.  And gives us more time to spend with our loved ones here!  

As fall kicked off, Taylor (7th grade) LOVED playing another season of volleyball at New Life Christian School.  She also showed her chickens at the fair which won 1st & 2nd place for her breed. It was a great learning experience for her.  And she continues to LOVE LOVE LOVE horses.  We have been so blessed with our neighbor providing her opportunities to learn to ride and now our friends/former neighbors who are allowing Taylor to ride at their place weekly.  It truly is therapy for her and her highlight for the week.  Tyler (2nd grade) transitioned pretty smoothly to a new school this year.  Brave little guy rises to the occasion when change is involved!  He played another season of soccer this fall which was fun to see him grow in his skills.  This winter Taylor is playing club volleyball and Tyler is playing basketball.  It's fun to see the kids explore different sports and decide which ones they want to pursue further.  

As for Jason, his work travel has picked back up again this fall, but thankfully they have been relatively short trips for the most part!  He has loved the shorter commute to work this new house provides for him and the ability to hunt right on the property.  We have been abundantly blessed with a freezer full of venison and have started butchering our own deer now.  It's been a family affair LOL.  Medically, Jason has been doing very well.  He will have his next round of scans in February with NIH for his annual check up.  And for Megan, she is continuing to work part time, helped coach volleyball this past fall at New Life & is the kids' taxi driver all over town.  

We are looking forward to having time off this Christmas Season to celebrate Jesus' birth with family & friends!  We pray you and yours have a BLESSED CHRISTMAS as well!
