Here was the start of it all ...
Hi All -
We wanted to give you a heads up to a prayer request we have for Jason, and ask for your help in including him in your prayers please.
As many of you know, Jason has had an abnormally large growth on the back part of his leg where his knee bends for quite awhile now. He originally thought it was a Baker's Cyst, based on the research he had done on his own. Over the past couple months it's grown, therefore he isn't able to bend his knee completely and his leg has been going numb on and off.
He had an x-ray in February and just this past Monday had an MRI. In hearing back from his Orthopediac Dr. today who reviewed his MRI, he does not believe this to be a Baker's Cyst, as the MRI showed the growth to be more solid vs. liquid. Therefore, the Dr. is referring Jason to see 1 of 2 Specialists that he recommends, who have more expertise in this area: 1 in Baltimore and/or 1 in DC.
We are praying that Jason can get in to see one of these Dr. either later this week or next week to better understand what exactly is wrong with his leg that is causing this growth, help us determine quickly if there are any concerns with the type of growth this is (malignant or benign), and that they are able to safely treat this growth in the best way possible for a quick recooperation.
He has an extremely busy travel schedule over these next couple of months and his next trip is as early as next Saturday, May 14 in which he plans to be gone for possibly 2 wks. If that trip is in fact 2 weeks, he will come home for Memorial Day weekend and then possibly head back out for another 2 weeks. Then, he would get back for a day or two and we head to Colorado for a vacation. Wheew, can you tell I'm a tad stressed? Luckily, if he has to cancel either business trip based on the sense of urgency on his health, he absolutely can, so we'll see what happens.
We know that God is in control and pray for Jas to stay strong in using this situation as a way to witness to others about Christ!
Thanks for your prayers and we'll keep you posted as we learn more!
Love,
Jas & Meg
