Good morning everyone - We wanted to send out a quick update regarding news that we learned about Jason's tumor that is helping us better know what to expect this Tuesday.
In looking back on our appt with the Dr. last week, no one had discussed with us what the plan of action would be if they found that the tumor was benign while in surgery tomorrow. We understand that they believe it to be cancerous, however we know that until it's confirmed, there is a chance that it could be benign. (Wouldn't that be a cool testimony for Christ?) Anyway, when I asked our Nurse Practictioner the question (as she has been in on every meeting that we've had with the Dr.) she hesitated and said slowly, that's a really good question. She put me on hold and asked our Dr. So, after she got back on the phone, she shared that if the Dr. is 100% sure during the biopsy that it is benign, they would go ahead and remove the tumor entirely. So, at least we know on both ends what we are looking at. So, we have a different gameplan in place for those watching T, as we may be staying overnight at the hospital if the best case scenario is true. So bless Brandie, Courtney and Kelly's hearts, we have coverage for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday if need be!
Another piece of info our Dr. shared with us on the phone, more or less reset our expectations on what we may find out when. Best case scenario, they will be able to determine what the tumor is during the surgery. However, worst case scenario it may be another 2 weeks of testing until we know more. Wheew! At least we know going into it that it may not be as quick as we initially thought, but we wanted you to know that as well!
Here's some neat information we wanted to share! While Jas will be in surgery, our dear friend Kat, who is battling cancer, will be minutes away from us for an update to see how things are progressing for her. So, she offered to swing by the hospital after her appointment for support. That was just the icing on the cake with how God continues to provide us the support and encouragement that we need through our friends & family during this time of uncertainty! Man are we blessed!
We love you and appreciate your continued prayers! We continue to rest on Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things, through Christ who gives me strength."
Love,
Jas & Meg
